San Miguel (Saint Michael) is best known as the warrior angel who led the heavenly armies to defeat Satan in the Book of Revelation; he is invoked for protection, as healer, and as a protector from sickness and evil. In Mexico, in 1631, he is believed to have cured a bout of plague with the revalation of a sacred spring (more on this here).
