Beyond: A Living Person’s Guide to the Dead is the culmination of seven years of exploration into the mysterious, culturally ambivalent practice of mediumship. Author and medium Tiffany Hopkins—building on her background in research, five generations of family history in the Spiritualist community of Lily Dale, and her creative practices—wrote Beyond as a tool for anyone interested in developing a safe and life-affirming approach to relationships with the dead.In this talk, Tiffany will share a bit of history on Spiritualist-style mediumship; she will also introduce you to her own modern update which, while based on traditional mediumship, has been abstracted into a process for building relationships with the multitude of non-living, non-humans in our everyday experience. In addition to a conceptual overview, Tiffany will guide us through a meditation-like exercise to practice connecting, and answer any questions you might have.
