Join us to celebrate Memento Mori: The Art of Contemplating Death to Live a Better Life, a new book by Morbid Anatomy founder Joanna Ebenstein. The book is intended to act as a guide to a good death, much like the books of the dead utilized by our ancestors, using a direct and playful confrontation with death to help the reader ascertain their own truths and start to live by them. The event will consist of short talks by people featured in the book including John Troyer, PhD, Death Studies Scholar-at-Large at the Centre for Death and Society at the University of Bath; Writer and scholar Salvador Olguín who leads Morbid Anatomy Day of the Dead trips to Mexico; Amy Slonaker, independent scholar of religions; Hospice chaplain Diana Muñoz; End of Life Doula and meditation teacher Bryan Melillo; and Artist Karen Montgomery.
