Online Talk · Road House as Folk Horror, with Professor Andrea Adams and Myth Scholar Amy Slonaker

$8 - Tickets and more info HERE

Join film professor Andrea Adams and myth scholar Amy Slonaker for a discussion of how the rich film narrative of Road House, starring Patrick Swayze (1989) can be interrogated through the lens of the British film genre of Folk Horror. By comparing Road House to American films that made the genre its own—such as Deliverance (1972) and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)— this talk posits Road House as part of a hybrid genre that incorporates elements of both British Folk Horror and American Hillbilly Horror.
