Mexican Verdigris Devil Pendant

$45.00

A copper devil’s green face hangs from a chain. Eyes slope down in menace, mouth open to a howl show jagged teeth, not human, at the bottom. Curved horns jut from his brow, thick wires of hair pop from his chin curling under, a reflection of his animal ancestry. His look is at once beautiful and terrifying, rustic and sophisticated.

This handmade copper piece has been oxidized and processed to create a green color known as verdigris. Methods for producing verdigris have been remarked on in alchemical texts and verdigris been used in pigments since ancient times for its pure green tones such as in the depiction of landscapes.
