Rather than understanding dreams as having origins outside of us, Freud theorized that they are in fact the products of our own unconscious minds. These ideas would be an enormous influence on the international movement in the art and literature of the 1930s and 40s known as Surrealism. In this mind-blowing talk, we’ll see many “dreamscapes” as created by artists like Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, and Giorgio de Chirico, and learn how they have as many different meanings as they have viewers.
