The book celebrates the world-wide Goth-industrial scene that centered primarily around New York City from 1990 through 2020. It explores what the author—an active member of the scene--deems to be the broad historical and cultural milieu that nourished a specific social and aesthetic group of people: the Goths of Greater NYC. This book looks at the institutions that served them as well as their roots, common interests, shared experience, and uniqueness as a subculture. Historical, psychological and philosophical insights gained along the way are included, and unique lifestyles of the creators and participants of the Goth scene are profiled.
