In the past she has been a paranormal investigator, while specializing in tales of haunting on her folklore podcast. She has also examined the representation of the haunted house in contemporary Hollywood cinema, since popular culture loves to depict the supernatural. As a fiction writer, she also has a keen interest in ghost stories as a way to preserve what is important to humans - mortality, and what happens when we are gone.
